Let me share a personal experience. I had this sudden insight that I would be happier if
I moved to Florida. Emotionally, I craved warmer weather, the ability to hop on my bike
right outside my door instead of driving it to a park like I had to do in South Carolina,
and a social life surrounded by other active seniors.
But the logical part of my brain pushed back: “It’s too much work to pack up this house
and put it on the market. You made this your dream home. You have friends here. Why
would you leave all that? And you’re 67 years old—what are you thinking?”
I felt torn between two truths. Yet every time I tuned into my body, I felt a sense of calm
pointing me toward Florida. It was scary to trust that feeling.
Once I made the decision—and got my husband on board—everything began to fall into
place. We found a house we loved, sold our home in South Carolina, and two months
later we were living in Florida.
I’m so grateful I listened to that quiet, steady voice nudging me toward a major change.
It led me exactly where I needed to be.
